Dive site: Thomas reef, Egypt

Dive Trip: Sharm El Sheikh ( 26 April 2008 - 03 May 2008)

My Rating:

Max depth: 43.9 m

Average depth: 20 m

Dive time: 50 min

Activities:
- Marine biology

Description:

With Cyril (+ Nico & Céline; Mathias & co.). The goal was to visit the Thomas Reef canyon (the top of the canyon) and go down to the first of the three arches. The canyon starts near 30m deep and goes down to 90m deep and maybe deeper! There are three arches; the first one is at 42m deep; which is the maximum depth allowed in Egypt. The arch is not as great as announced (not much life down there); the canyon should be impressive if we could dive down to 60m then starting an ascent across all arches... I recommend not to dive as deep and stay on the reef where there are a lot of marine life.
