 Additional Information

Hanifaru Bay is an UNESCO marine reserve area, famous to see hundreds of manta rays (and some whale sharks). Best period is from may to december during the South West Monsoon.

Very strict rules:
- Registration before to go at the Hanifar Information Center (Darawandu island)
- Official guide is required
- 45 min max
- No scuba diving; only snorkelling
- Min distance of 3m from the head and 4m from the tail
- No strobes
- No underwater propellers
